Don McLeod’s interest in Tarot began in 1985, but his quest for spiritual growth has been a life-long adventure.

At the age of 18 he was initiated into the Rosicrucian Order. During his ten years with that organisation he learnt about mysticism, arcane symbolism, and philosophy. After this he stepped away to explore deep trance meditation, Jungian psychology, and the predictive realms of astrology, numerology, and the I Ching. But when he bought his first deck of Tarot cards, he discovered they contained the united elements of all that he had previously studied.

Leaving other forms of divination behind, he devoted himself to understanding the wisdom contained within the archetypal symbolism of Tarot’s stunning imagery. He studied the cards, he researched their origins, he experimented, and he recorded his results. His knowledge was then shared with others at his workshops, in radio interviews, and through the books he wrote.

His first book “‘Practical Guide to Tarot” was published by Gemcraft in 1993. His second book “Real Tarot” was published through CreateSpace. He also wrote a chapter for Douglas Ezzy’s book, ‘Practicing the Witch’s Craft’, published by Allen & Unwin in 2003. Other writing credits include feature articles in magazines, such as: Panthology, Golden Age, Insight, SpellCraft, Inner Self, Silver Wheel, and The Magician (the journal of the Tarot Guild of Australia).

Through his involvement with the Tarot Guild of Australia and Tarot Professionals, Don is a respected member of the Tarot community, attending International Tarot Conferences in Australia and overseas. He is a founding member of the Tarot Group of South Australia. Tarot is a passion which continues to guide his life on many practical and spiritual levels.
